Schmeeckle Reserve

Stevens Point, WI
Rettler Corporation provided master planning, site design, engineering, permitting, bidding administration and construction management services to facilitate the development of the Pankowski Amphitheater for the Friends of Schmeeckle Reserve at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.  As one of the primary entities as part of the Green Circle Trail Head Redevelopment Master Plan, the amphitheater is constructed with terraced dolomite sandstone seating for roughly 250 people. The amphitheater stage structure, comprised of timber-frame construction, incorporates large glulam beams and steel hardware together with a unique roof design to project sound as part of this unique performance space.

With natural materials blending well into the natural landscape, the overall goal of the design was to provide the community and users with a facility that supports unique outdoor programs, plays concerts and other performances. Rettler Corporation began working with the friends group in 2017 to develop the vision and master plan for the project.  The project was completed in the summer of 2019.
