Rettler Corporation worked with the Kewaskum School District to develop a comprehensive site master plan to address circulation and safety concerns with parking, drives, and student drop off and pick up from buses and passenger vehicles. The existing site had combined parking and drives with drop off and pick up areas, causing student and pedestrian cross traffic with drive lanes and parking lots. The solution was to develop dedicated pick up and drop off loops for buses and passenger vehicles that are separated from parking areas, allowing for safe student flow to and from vehicles to building entrances. ADA accessible sidewalks were also provided. For large school functions, the hard surface playground space, passenger vehicle loop and bus loop serve as additional overflow parking. The project was constructed from June to August 2023 to avoid impacting the school year.
